Belt Parkway, Brooklyn -- New York Times June 22, 2017

"California has the Pacific Coast Highway; the Southwest, its historic Route 66. New York? Our great drive may be the Belt Parkway, whose 25 miles hug green space and coastline along south Brooklyn and eastern Queens. Yes, the Belt can be a traffic nightmare for those heading to Kennedy International Airport or over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge at rush hour. But there are times — say, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and early Sunday mornings — when the grandeur of the Belt reveals itself."

1. A fantastic comprehensive article of STEAM Education about New York City neighborhoods and attractions: current and historical...

2. Military historical engineering about Civil War era canons and ordinance:

3. This is a coast-to-coast serendipity, from New York City to San Francisco Bay ;^>

A colleague from the Bay Area gave me permission to share his "video mix" of rush-hour highway traffic

near San Francisco. It gets a little dizzying, but that is the point of it: Our urban always-in-a-hurry to get there stress,

interferes with our being here now.

I guess because getting there is so unpleasant; our society is car-crazy and speed-frenzied:

time is money and money buys time...

I hope civilization "catches-up' to understand the importance of "slowing down"...

We are a society Out-of-Balance: Koyaanisqatsi... See the film for free on youtube

But it may get you dizzy and unsettle your mind... "wear your seat belt"; it is dangerous to your health...
